BR-YOZA (Bread Gyoza)

I love Japanese Gyoza, lightly pan fried with my favourite fillings.  So I thought why not make my “dad” version that my girls will love?  So here it is, I must say, they’re pretty delicious and tasty…

Ingredients:

  • wholemeal bread
  • carrot
  • grated cheese
  • roast chicken pieces

Follow my step to step guide and you can’t go wrong:

Using a round cookie cutter, cut a circle out of the bread.

How easy was that?

Using a rolling pin, flatten the bread.

Cup it in your hand and add your fillings:

I’m using roast chicken and cheese.

Pinch the edges closed so they stay tight.

Heat up a frying pan, I lightly sprayed olive oil however it’s not needed.

It only takes about 30 seconds for the cheese to melt inside and the bread to go brown and toasty.

I use a peeler that cuts strips out of a carrot, it makes them look like noodles.  I blanched them in hot water for about 30 seconds.  I popped them on a plate and then neatly put the BR-YOZA on top.

So we’ve got carbs, protein, dairy and vegetable in a delicious dish that your kids will love. Try it with your favourite fillings.
